Cross-Country Skiing in Hundham: the Trail by the Farm

When there is enough snow, the local council grooms a cross-country ski trail only about 150 m from the farm. There are several more loops around Hundham, and across the municipality of Fischbachau there are around 44 kilometres of trails for classic and skating technique.

From the farm to the track is only about 150 metres. We are happy to tell you on the phone whether the trail has been groomed.

The loops start at the Leonhardi chapel

The Hundham loops start at the car park by the Leonhardi chapel, only a few hundred metres from the farm. The practice loop is rated easy and is a good place to try things out, and the Große Schreiern loop takes about an hour.

There is somewhere to stop for food or a drink on all four loops. Figures from the municipality of Fischbachau, as of October 2026.

More trails in the municipality

If you want to go further, take the Fischbachau–Elbach–Hundham trail. It is 17.5 kilometres long and rated difficult, and the municipality estimates about three hours. The official start is the car park at the heated outdoor pool in Fischbachau, and there are places to stop along the way.

The Lippmühlenrunde by the church in the neighbouring village of Wörnsmühl is also easy and family-friendly, at 0.9 kilometres.

Guest card, buses and ski hire

With the guest card you use the trails in Fischbachau, Schliersee and Bayrischzell free of charge. In winter it also gets you onto the ski and cross-country buses in Fischbachau and Bayrischzell for free.

You can hire cross-country skis in Schliersee, for example, and some hire shops give a discount with the guest card.

When snow is short in the valley

The valley trails need a decent covering of snow, as Hundham is only at around 800 metres.

At just over 1,080 metres, Spitzingsee is almost 300 metres higher and about 15 kilometres from the farm. Trails are groomed there and in the Valepp valley as well. The regional snow report shows how much snow there is in the villages of the region.
